Float bed from Max Longin

A very funky and contemporary bed called the float.

Design Max Longin only has this bed and a chair currently on his site and well worth checking out and keeping an eye out for future design.

The bed is suspended stainless by four steel cords which is what gives it the effect of floating.

Five Amazing Sofas

Here are a pick of 5 amazing sofas that offer ideas, concepts, style and so much more.

The mix of fashion and design with a statement of what you and your home or office is about often comes from your choice of sofa.

Many of the below can be purchased but some are prototypes from new designers with some great ideas.

First lets start with a prototype from designer Daniel Becker from Germany.

The Hunting Lines 2 seat sofa has strong lines with a what looks like a glowing yellow line contrasting again the soft black.

One of the main features to this sofa is the fact that putting multi sofas together expands the seating area and create great lines within a home or office.

From the Daniel Becker prototype to no other than one of the most famous sofa brands in the world, yes B&B Italia.

I could with ease list just 5 B&B italia sofas on this blog post but this time only one gets on this list.

Designed by Patricia Urquiola whom has designed for B&B Italia, Bosa, De Vecchi, Fasem, Kartell, Liv’it, MDF Italia, Molteni & C., Moroso and Tronconi plus many more.

The Tutfy Time has been selected due to the mix of square and straight lines with super soft corners and edges is a perfect mix of uniformity and comfort.

Being modular it fits in any space from a large 1 seat sofa to as large a composition as you'd like.

Looking for some natural elements in your living room ? Well the Neo livingstones will meet your needs..

These giant stones and pebbles make up configurations of sofas for both indoor and outdoor use.

These elements really look like stone and pebbles and of course will create and eye catching focal point to any living space.

Maybe its the child in me that just wants to run and jump onto the Neo Livingstones from Smarin.
I think you could have so much fun with these sofa's in a modern space with strong lines with the livingstones offering the natural element into a room.

From stones to pixels..

Its hard to pick just one of the sofas designs from Moroso as it has so many epic designs.

Moroso are famed for so many designs that include the likes of the Victoria and Albert and
Alessandra Armchair in cow style black and white patch fabric.

The pictured pixel sofa is again this typical Moroso idea of a mix of color design and texture. Bland is not a word you can use when talking about Moroso.

With some of the world top designers such as Ron Arad, Carlo Colombo, Enrico Franzolini, Marc Newson, Toshiyuki Kita and Patricia Urquiola you are of course exposed to so many ideas and designs.

Other furniture by Moroso

Designers Andrea Fino and Samanta Snidaro have created the Velvet sofa for Sand and Birch design Italy.

The name of course gives away the use of velvet to upholster this sofa. It looks like and spring and strong, even harsh and uncomfortable to sit on but taking a closer look you can see the super soft velvet which omits comfort. The contradiction between its spring like form and soft texture is what makes this sofa stand out.

This is typical of Italian furniture challenging shape and form along with texture and finish.

Domino Short Bed From SMA

The Domino bed is a classic design, simple lines, simple shape but offers a feel of true Italian quality.

I love the red mixed in the a contemporary white as white bedroom giving the room a great focal feature.

The "short" part of the name refers to the fact the head board is 57.5cm high which I love.

Knife and fork coffee table.

I came across this coffee a while back and again today. It was pretty hot idea back in 2007. Sadly I can't access the Objection design site as its down but it well worth doing a google search for more info on them and maybe you will find more info than I could.

Normally I blog about comporary and modern furniture you can get your hands on but this is one of those posts that I hope will get the old creative juice following.

I love the simple idea. I'm sure health and safety my have a few problem with it and I'd sugest keeping the kids away from it or design a similar idea with a clear glass or pastic covering/case.

The River Modular Bookcase from Antonello Italia

I love the idea behind the River Modular Bookcase.

The two image show off the just some of the options you have with this modular bookcase system.

Both images work so well in my opinion with and centre feature or a divider/side of room wave of a shape.

Simple yet dynamic design from the Italian designer brand Antonello Italia whom have an array of furnitrue from chairs to tables with a classical contemporary and modern feel. Clean and simple lines with a feeling of style.
